The intensive course is aimed exclusively at Members who have participated in at least one complete seminar and / or a residential retreat led by teachers of the A.Me.Co.
Ezra Bayda has been practicing meditation since 1970, studying first with Maezumi Roshi, and then later with Joko Beck. He began teaching in 1995, receiving his Dharma Transmission in 1998. His teachings are a blend of the Zen and other traditions. He has written seven books, including the award winning Being Zen, and his latest, Aging For Beginners. He now teaches at the Zen Center San Diego (www.zencentersandiego.org) with his wife and fellow Zen teacher, Elizabeth Hamilton. They also lead meditation retreats in the U.S. and abroad.
began practicing Zen in 1975 with Maezumi Roshi in Los Angeles Zen Center. She received Dharma Transmission from Joko Beck in 1994. Her book, “Untrain Your Parrot - and other No-nonsense Instruction on the Path of Zen
” won the Spirituality and Health’s “Best Zen Book of 2007” award. Elizabeth has done hospice volunteering, and she also led retreats at her local hospice. She currently teaches at San Diego Zen Center with her husband Ezra Bayda, her partner at work as well as in life. Together they lead meditation retreats in the U.S. and abroad.
